In the field of Peace and Conflict Studies — conflict resolution & transformation, peace education & training, restorative justice & dialogue, and nonviolent direct intervention. For practical approaches — mediation & facilitation and the arts-based approaches using creative methods. Areas/levels of work — NGOs/CSOs activities from the micro (individual) to the macro/mega (Northeast Asia).

平和紛争学において、紛争解決＆転換、平和教育＆トレーニング、修復的正義＆対話、非暴力直接介入などを研究している。実践的アプローチとしては、メディエーション＆ファシリテーション、そして芸術アプローチなど、創造的方法論を用いる。研究実践主体としてはNGOや市民社会を基盤とし、ミクロ（個人）レベルからマクロ・メガ（東北アジア）レベルまでを対象とする。

研究分野は比較国際教育学。低所得国における開発援助の経験をもとに、教育開発、国際協力、教師教育、理科教育、異文化間教育、教育方法、教育不正などに関心がある。

My field of expertise is political science, particularly international relations, security studies, democracy, human rights, journalism, and education. I approach issues by balancing both the logical and emotional dimensions, the idealistic and long term perspectives and the realistic and short term ones, as well as the reflective and the practical aspects.

専門は政治学。とくに国際関係や安全保障、民主主義、人権、ジャーナリズム、教育などの分野。問題に対して、＜論理的＞な側面と＜情感的＞な側面の両面から、あるいは＜理念的・長期的＞な側面と＜現実的・短期的＞な側面の両面から、または＜思索的＞な側面と＜実践的＞な側面の両面から、バランスよくアプローチする。
